We can all agree that 2020 has been a challenging year. I may have said that already, but its true nevertheless. A lot of funny jokes about it on the internet like “Wine, the stuff holding this sh&*thshow together”.
Sometimes we fail to notice our own reactions to it, I mean our personal reaction. Some folks went crazy on toilet paper, other folks stopped doing their daily routines, etc. I am really proud of our small team. By and large we have refocused, truly committed ourselves to our idea, and have stayed positive. Personally I have gotten into even better shape, the biggest improvement was deep into the quarantine with gyms closed and I had not even noticed. Ditto for our co-founder. It has been a long longtime since I have been in this kind of shape, more to do for sure, but the progress has been awesome.
We have worked on personal development as well not just getting into shape. Mindfulness, doing things internationally, A more holistic approach to the work / life balance, etc. At first it seemed a bunch of jumbo jumbo, but it is showing success now. A flash here and there but more than ever, at least for me. We have moved the company more in a month than in the previous few months and it feels great.
I look forward to hitting our goals by years’s end and I am shedding the annual constrictions on planning. What do I mean by that? I have been planning yearly, but that is a waste of time, better to simplify and have short and long term goals and put tighter timelines on the short term objectives to hasten the long term. In other words, get stuff done on a “need” timeline versus annual as annual tends to push things back not forward and we want to push hard. We’ll see how that goes.
In the meantime, we got our second patent last month and the official document yesterday. Exciting and proud of that, but we need to build and that we are doing with a zeal that is impressive!.
